Graphite is the most stable form of carbon with its atoms arranged in a hexagonal structure. It occurs naturally and under high pressures & temperatures it converts to diamond form. It is a good conductor of heat and electricity and has some unique properties such as high strength at high temperature, good chemical stability, low thermal expansion, high thermal shock resistance, low friction and low porosity. Its high conductivity makes it useful in electronic products such as electrodes, batteries, and solar panels. Graphite is also used in pencils, lubricants, steel, foundries, refractories and brake pads.

There are two distinct forms of Graphite; namely Natural graphite and Synthetic graphite.
  • Natural graphite is further sub-categorized into Flake graphite, Amorphous graphite, Expandable graphite, and Vein graphite. Majorly used in Battery, Pencil, Brakes, Refractories etc.
  • Synthetic graphite is further sub-categorized into Graphite electrodes, Graphite blocks & rounds, Graphite powder, and others. It is majorly used in Steel industry, Foundries, Lubricants, Chemical, Pharma etc.
